Students are responsible for bringing a clean one subject notebook to each lesson.
For online lessons, notes will be taken, saved, and stored in each student's privately shared Google folder. Access to these folders is granted to both students and parents, and is an invaluable way to connect families to important studio documents, scanned music, and resources in and out of lessons.
If a family cannot easily access GoogleDrive, arrangements can be made to accommodate any family's needs.
Lessons are currently available via Zoom or in person*
*Risk factors are reduced by practicing social distancing, using HEPA filters, disinfectants before and after each lesson, as well as utilizing separate sets of equipment (music stands, instrument stands, chairs, pencils, hand sanitizer, etc.).
While music lessons occur weekly, the best learning can only be fostered with consistent instruction, unimpeded by lapses of study, over an extended period of time. This is a shared responsibility between both students and parents, as well as the instructor.
CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING
With at least 24-hour notice of cancellation, all lessons can and will be rescheduled (not skipped), ideally within 48 hours of original time. For lessons within tuition packages, combining lessons times can arranged based on availability (i.e. one missed half-hour lesson to be made up in a singular hour lesson the next meeting, or one missed hour lesson divided over the next two meetings to create two hour-and-a-half long lessons). Makeup lessons will not be added to the end of a tuition package's duration.
Notification within 24 hours of a missed lesson will not be made up and will be deducted from tuition, exemptions to this policy are by the strict discretion of the instructor. Those who purchase individual lessons will be charged an additional $5 dollar rescheduling fee at their next lesson.
If multiple lessons in a row must be missed for one reason or another (life does happen, and schedules do change), a rescheduling of each to-be-missed lesson must occur before the first missed lesson to avoid any penalties. Permanent lesson time changes can be accommodated.
In the case a lesson must be cancelled within 24 hours by the instructor for personal reasons, it will be up to the family to choose whether to reschedule, or receive a refund. Cancellations due to instructor's rehearsals, performances, or other music related opportunities will be rescheduled. These professional experiences contribute to the overall success of the students and studio, and will likely be scheduled well in advance.
Internet based learning can be supplemented into any lesson package or coaching. Online lessons are are easy to execute and even easier to schedule. Options are, but not limited too:
